[Z.S.A MISSION OVERVIEW DOCUMENT]
[RECIPIENT: PATROL TEAM DYNOCLAW]
On 17 Fyndon 6996 EA7, an incident occured in a CALCOR base located near Hy:Ja Lake on Planet Requdon. A Zanziko had rested in the
underdepths of the military complex ,
classified under the name of Project "Sky Eater". This is one of the deadliest species known to Lost Space, so much so that they have been banished from our world entirely.
Swarms of them have taken countless lives, and have caused untold levels of ruination over millions of years.
This is due to their frightening ability to collectively absorb and devour entire worlds. Due to these factors,
the Zanziko nest that was discovered floating within Solar System XZ4934 should have been destroyed...
But CALCOR had different plans.
Project "Sky Eater" is an endeavor to wield the power of a Zanziko and use it as a weapon for the fleet. They would experiment and encourage the Sky Eater's growth.
It was easily able to learn how to speak and write due to the high adaptability of the species. And the strength of their subject did not disappoint through their various tests.
On top of all of this, the Sky Eater came out of her cocoon with a defect. Through outside factors,
the metamorphosis it would naturally go through was tampered with. This would leave the Sky Eater with the uncanny ability to turn parts of her body into the pupal form at will.
An effect where it seemed as if her very limbs could morph into pink elongated tendrils. "Subtraction", they call it.
CALCOR thought this would have been great for their research on the species as a whole. No Zanziko with this mutation had been caught alive before.
The report that we've gotten from CALCOR security shows that the Sky Eater used this very unexpected mutation to
lockpick the cuffs that held her captive.
This factor directly lead to her escape from the facility.
In these cuffs, there was a specific failsafe meant to stop this from happening, a stinging mechanism that would activate far beyond what she could handle.
It seems that her resolve to escape from her prison was great enough for her to endure the overwhelming piercing pain of the deterrant long enough to slowly morph
one of her fingers into a small tendril. This tiny amount was enough to slip the string that became of her pointer finger into the inner workings of the cuffs until it
eventually broke apart. Due to the sophistocated nature of her lockpicking, it is assumed that the Sky Eater had been planning this endeavor this for some time before that day.
It is indeed a massive oversight on CALCOR's part. Though they knew how to stop her electric discharge, they did not know how to fully stop the factor of her "Subtraction",
and prolonged their research on it. It seems that they underestimated her.
Either that, or they overestimated her loyalty to them and their cause.
And now... due to that oversight...
